Whenever I update my website, I always get a red X that says cancelled after 4 seconds. I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong.

As I saw ur builds, that's mainly because when u push an update to the repo, the site is in build state, and when it's still building, u update the repo with new code again , so the previous build is getting cancelled and a new build is generated

A “Cancelled after 4 seconds” status usually means the workflow didn’t even start running properly. In most cases it means that a new push has cancels the previous workflow, if you push commits rapidly, GitHub will cancel the previous workflow run. Maybe you're triggering a wrong workflow, like you're in a different branch. I hope this helps.

A red “X – cancelled” usually means your GitHub Pages deployment workflow stopped before it could finish. This often happens for a few common reasons:

1. You pushed multiple commits too quickly
   If you push updates back-to-back within a few seconds, GitHub cancels the older deployment run automatically. That’s normal and safe to ignore.

2. Your Pages build workflow is being replaced by a newer run
   GitHub will auto-cancel a workflow if a newer push starts a fresh build. Only the most recent one continues.

3. You have a custom Actions workflow that stops early
   If you're using GitHub Actions to build your site, check the Actions tab → click the run → look for any failed steps or early stops.

4. If the site is still updating, you don’t need to worry
   As long as the latest workflow run is green, your site will deploy correctly — even if older runs show a red X.
