Shared transcript, acceptance letter, proof of student, last semester grades, and last semester bill but still rejected.

I was instructed by GitHub support to make a new account to separate my enterprise and personal Github because Github is unable to allow me to toggle my Enterprise and Personal copilot, defaulting to billing my employer.

I submitted more proof than my main account linked to my enterprise license but Github is still rejecting my application.

I noticed you are facing issues with the automated verification system despite having valid documents. Since you mentioned this is a new account, the strictness of the AI bot is usually higher to prevent spam, which causes these auto-rejections.
Here is a proven workaround that has helped many others (including a similar case I solved yesterday):

1. Use the "Live Camera" Mode (Crucial Step):
   The system trusts live metadata much more than uploaded files. Instead of uploading a scanned PDF or saved image, use your laptop/phone camera directly within the browser to take the photo.

2. Focus on Text, Not the Whole Document:
   The AI looks for specific keywords: Your Name, Institute Name, and Current Date/Year.
   Try taking a picture of only the part of the transcript/ID where these three details are clearly visible together.
   Ensure the text is sharp and readable. If the AI can't OCR (read) the text, it rejects it immediately.

3. Check Profile Consistency:
   Since this is a new account, ensure your GitHub Profile Name matches the name on your document exactly. If your document has a full name but your GitHub profile uses a nickname or abbreviation, update your profile name first.

4. Enable Location Services:
   Make sure your browser has Location Services enabled and you are physically near or on your campus
   (if possible). This adds a strong trust signal for the bot.

Try the Live Camera method again with these adjustments, and it should go through. Let us know if it works!

I tried again, I now got the error message that it has already been claimed. How can I remove it from my existing account? I was instructed by GitHub support to make a new account to separate my enterprise and personal Github because Github is unable to allow me to toggle my Enterprise and Personal copilot

Hi @midwaystudio,

The "Already Claimed" error means your student verification is still linked to your old GitHub account in GitHub’s backend. This is not an OCR or document issue anymore.

You will need to contact GitHub Support and ask them to manually release/unclaim your student verification from the old account, especially since they told you to create a separate account.

Once they unlink it, you should be able to verify this new account.
